Island House in Leinoy – Norway

An old local store adapted into a family home. Our latest modernization project in Leinoy, Norway is an interior concept for a village house located on a slope between the sea and the mountains. We’ve refurbished the house by adding two dormers on the sides of the building, a new main entrance, a terrace on the second floor and a new window arrangement. Panoramic windows overlooking the surrounding landscape were also incorporated into the project. The facade features a new spruce paneling that overtime will be organically covered with natural patina. The client wanted to expand the living space on the second floor. By adding two dormers, we’ve gained more space to fit two bedrooms, two bathrooms, a separate kitchen as well as a living room with terrace access. The finishings were made with high-quality natural materials while the color palette remained neutral and timeless. All the built-in furniture were custom-made in line with ID Studio’s design alongside other gems such as the glass cabinet and the vanity unit in the bathroom. Client’s design collection was complemented with carefully selected pieces, both furniture and lighting, to create a cosy, functional retreat with nature at its heart.
